The sun drenched tropical spice islands off the east coast of southern africa embody the very heart of our ambered vanilla and rooibos range. here the languid Indian ocean thrusts deep into tangled jungle ravines where wild vanilla vines twist up cinnamon bark trees. In the ancient stone trading port, the old market place hums with activity and the hot air is thick with spices – saffron, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. the push and shove of people and donkey carts, the high voices of merchants chanting and the tea seller’s song bring heighten the sensory kaleidoscope. On the mainland, traditional healers call on ancient customs in mixing herbs and plants such as the marula fruit. This is one of the indigenous ingredients we use to enrich this range which also incorporates the indigenous african rooibos ( red bush) herb that serves to gently exfoliate.
